Earth Pulse Vibrations

I’ve been experimenting with some photography techniques, and I started messing around with Free Lensing which is really interesting and fun to work with. Its difficult to get a hang of and needs some practice, but the end results can be really aesthetically pleasing.       

I’m also working on my Identity for a university project, messing around with type and photography, creating mood boards, this will probably be the most challenging project I’ve worked on because its personal, and in my opinion the more personal it is, the more difficult it gets. I have a few more ideas to play around with…

The Eco Zoo.

The Eco Zoo is a 3D story pop-up website (if thats how you can label it) that deals with environmental issues, Flash is integrated into the website efficiently and creatively and is not used for just “show”. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of Flash and I would rather designing and looking at HTML only websites. The Eco Zoo is a very experimental site and I doubt you’ll find many websites like it, you can play around with virtually anything, rotating the world in any direction you choose. Visit it, play around with it, it’ll make your day a whole lot better.

Kootoob

Kootoob is a blog that tries to shine the light on talented illustrators, animators and creative visual works from Lebanon. There are pages and pages of really interesting and creative pieces of work from Lebanese artists.

Go over there and take a look, you’ll be amazed and what you’ll find.

And if you know any artists, make sure they submit something to Kootoob, they could get published.

- Nine Inch Nails “In this Twilight”

To pick three of my own favorite designs is a difficult choice to make, not because I have a lot of favorites, but quite the opposite. I’m a pretty harsh critic when it comes to my own creations, this is even true with my photography, so picking three for this post was quite difficult. My first choice was the lowercase “h” I created for my font (H is for Hoax), my favorite part of the h is the details, specifically the ascender and head serif, I’d like to believe that we’re seeing “inside”, like an x-ray.

The second design I chose to show is a poster design that I’m still working on, the title (a work in progress) is “Fall of Reach”, its a tribute to the videogame Halo. I like the simplicity of it and the focus on the center of the poster, it could possibly make the viewer contemplate what they’re looking at and that’s usually a good thing.

The third and final design is also a poster, done for a course in university, we had various choices of posters to design, I chose to create a fictional movie poster based on Year Zero, the Nine Inch Nails album. I had decided from the start to take my own photo for the background and I think that’s why I have a soft spot for this poster.
